About Bark EUROPA
The Bark EUROPA was built in 1911 on the Stülcken wharf in Hamburg, Germany. In 1986 the ship was brought to the Netherlands for an 8 year renovation and re-rigging. Bark EUROPA follows the favourable winds of traditional sailing routes. This has brought her to all continents, sailing the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean, thus earning her nickname Ocean Wanderer. From December to March, she conducts expeditions to the Antarctic Peninsula. With 40 passengers, a crew of 16 and 3 expedition guides, an expedition on Bark EUROPA is a truly unique polar experience. Passengers become crew and participate in a watch system as well as help to sail the vessel through the infamous Drake Passage. No prior sailing experience is required. If you’re looking for a fully immersive Antarctic adventure, Bark EUROPA may be for you.
