Why We Like Her

While without the luxury amenities of newer builds, she delivers an authentic expedition experience including an enthusiastic team of lifelong naturalists and a fully Russian crew.

Akademik Shokalskiy ventures where most expedition vessels do not, journeying through the Russian Far East to such sought-after destinations as Wrangel Island, the Kamchatka Coast, Kuril Islands and the Sea of Okhotsk, as well as Commonwealth Bay in East Antarctica.

With just 48 passengers and half the berths sharing facilities, you are bound to make many new friends during your polar expedition.
