About the Ship

The Expedition was carefully selected and purpose-retrofit in 2009 by the current owners for comfortable polar expeditioning at a reasonable price.

She has one of the most spacious interiors of all polar expedition ships within her price range and has other great features that only a company with a keen grasp on what makes an expedition experience outstanding would have thought to include (like a mud room).

  • 360° Top Observation Deck
  • Large fleet of Zodiacs with four stroke engines
  • Complimentary rubber boots for duration of your cruise
  • Lonely Planet Library
  • Large aft deck with barbeque facilities
  • Gift Shop
  • Gym
  • Forward-looking sonar to avoid chance of grounding
  • Ice Class: Swedish/Finnish 1B
  • Cruising Speed: 13 knots

Why We Like Her

  • THOUGHTFUL TOUCHES

Large heated mudroom – we cannot emphasize how great of a feature this is – and how uncommon it is on other ships. Imagine dumping all of your wet gear upon return to the ship after an excursion and heading to the lounge for a hot chocolate. Not to mention, there’s a sauna to sit in after a chilly outing or polar plunge.

  • STABILITY

Former Swedish ferry - she was originally designed for stability and due to her Ice Class B, she is ideal for navigating the waters of the polar regions safely and comfortably.

  • SPACIOUS

Spacious – lots of room in public areas and nooks to sit privately with a book, as well as unusually spacious cabins for her class, all with en suite facilities.

  • OWNER OPERATED

Owner operated – you can be sure she is extremely well taken care of.
