About the Ship

With a capacity of 140 passengers, Discoverer has a long polar pedigree and perfectly blends an experience focused on expedition with relaxed comfort and elegance. She was purpose-built for expedition travel in 1989 and has been recently refurbished in 2018 and 2023. The ship has a wrap-around deck for wildlife viewing. 

Guests on Discoverer are able to take part in one of the industry’s most robust science programs, contributing to research in fields of marine biology, glaciology and ornithology. In addition to Antarctic and Arctic itineraries, Discoverer also offers active and varied South American itineraries.
