About the Ship

New in 2025, Douglas Mawson is named after the legendary Australian geologist and explorer. Featuring the revolutionary Ulstein X-BOW® and purpose-built with enhanced sustainability features, it takes a maximum of 130 passengers and features a host of amenities to help you connect with like-minded travellers and elevate your time onboard our floating base camp for adventure, including a heated outdoor swimming pool, two jacuzzi’s, a Citizen Science Centre and multiple observation areas.
Douglas Mawson offers unique itineraries to the Commonwealth Bay and Ross Sea regions of East Antarctica as well as a variety of unique optional adventure activities including snowshoeing, snorkelling and sea kayaking.
